Background and approach
What we are building, and why an instructor with a growing paying audience is better off owning the platform than renting one.
One platform, three surfaces.
A subscription learning platform where an expert sells access to their video courses. Members log in and stream, every lesson protected, with no downloads.
The build is made of three surfaces that work as one system. Members learn inside the platform. You run everything from the admin. Visitors are won over on the landing page. Behind all of it, content protection keeps every lesson secure. Each surface is covered in its own topic below.
The screens below are an early demo prepared for this discussion, shown with your own programmes and branding. The design goes through a few rounds of refinement, and each round is approved with you before we move to the next.
The platform pays for itself as you grow.
Off-the-shelf platforms like Uscreen, Kajabi and Teachable are quick to start, but they charge a share of your sales or a fee for every member, and that fee keeps climbing. Uscreen, for example, charges around USD1.99 per member each month. At 2,000 members that is over RM19,000 a month, indefinitely, simply to keep renting.
An honest note
Renting wins on speed to launch and zero maintenance. A custom build pays off once you already have a paying audience that is growing, the point where per-member fees start to cost more than the build ever would.

Lessons stream only, with no download button and no links that can be freely shared. These layers run behind every video, and they are the main reason to build custom rather than rely on YouTube or Drive.
Optional upgrade
Full studio-grade DRM and encrypted offline viewing (inside a dedicated mobile app) can be added as a later phase. The core protection above is included in this build.

About 4 to 8 weeks in total, delivered in two stages. We start with a working MVP that goes live in 2 weeks, so you can onboard real members early, then build the full platform around them. The structure is already set in the wireframe, so we move straight into content and design.

Nothing goes live until it passes testing with you. Once it does, you receive a full handover, so the platform is truly yours from day one.

On completion you receive a signed project completion certificate, together with the full handover: the source code, design files, documentation, and admin access. The platform, the data, and the member relationship are yours to own.

The RM 23,000 covers the one-time build, not an ongoing maintenance retainer. Beyond the cover above, an optional maintenance plan is available only if you want us to keep managing updates, uploads, and monitoring. Hosting and video streaming are billed to you directly by the provider.
A note on scope
The scope above is based on what we know at the date of this proposal. It can shift with decisions made in later discussion and with what we find during content and design. Any addition or reduction is agreed in writing by both sides, along with its effect on price and timeline, before that work begins.

No large payment up front. Each stage lands with something you can see, so the money follows the work.
Monthly hosting and video streaming are billed to you directly by the provider, separate from the build. An optional maintenance plan (updates, upload help, monitoring, and backups) is available, billed monthly after launch.
