01 Brief
One platform, two zones.
A subscription learning platform where an expert sells access to their video courses. Stream-only playback, no download button, gated behind a login.
The platform has a public zone (a sales site that convinces visitors to subscribe) and a member zone (a secure area where courses are streamed). The full structure of both zones is laid out in the accompanying wireframe. This document explains how it is built, how the content is protected, and the two hosting options to suit your budget.
02 Why build, not rent
Rented platforms cost more as you grow.
Off-the-shelf platforms (Uscreen, Kajabi, Teachable) look cheap at first, but they charge a percentage of sales or a per-member fee that keeps climbing. Uscreen, for example, charges around USD1.99 per member per month. At 2,000 members that is over RM19,000 a month, indefinitely, just to keep renting.
YouTube / Drive are not secureLinks can be shared freely, videos can be downloaded, and access cannot be tied to a subscription.
A rented platform is a landlordYou remain a tenant: member caps, limited branding, and prices they can raise at any time.
Custom is a fixed costPay once to build, plus low hosting. The cost does not rise as your members grow into the thousands.
You own everythingYour member list, the payment relationship, and your content sit on infrastructure you control.
An honest note: off-the-shelf platforms win on speed to launch and zero maintenance. Custom pays off for an instructor who already has a growing paying audience, the point where percentage and per-member fees start to cost more than a build ever would.

04 Content protection
Protected at every layer.
Layered protection: signed URLs are the access gate, watermarking is the forensic trail, and session controls stop account sharing. The "Core" layers are included in both packages.
Login requiredVideos only open for members who are logged in with an active subscription. (Core)
Signed, expiring URLsEach video link is signed and expires within minutes, so it cannot be copied and sent. (Core)
Account watermarkThe viewer's name / ID is subtly stamped over the video. If it leaks, the source is traceable. (Core)

05 Two hosting options
Lite or full, to suit your budget.
The difference is not in how the site looks, both are equally premium. It is in where the video is stored and who runs the streaming engine.
Start with Package A. It is cheaper to build, faster to launch, low and predictable to run each month, and DRM + watermarking are already included through the platform. Upgrade to Package B later if you want to own the entire video pipeline. The design and database are built so this migration is straightforward, without rebuilding from scratch.

Monthly infrastructure (video + hosting) is billed to you directly by the providers. The maintenance plan, if taken, is billed monthly after go-live.

Next steps.
Reply AGREE and tell us your choice: Package A or Package B, and whether you want the monthly maintenance plan.
Prepare the content: module list + video titles, instructor bio & quote, 2 to 4 member testimonials, decisions on subscription pricing & device limits.
A deposit invoice is sent within 24 hours. Work begins once the deposit is received.
